SYNOPSIS

Two former lovers meet within a vast empty field, as they journey through  shifting dreamlike landscapes together, they revisit long buried emotions and face unresolved tensions. through fragmented memories and intimate conversations, they reflect on their relationship, confronting the pain, resentment and emotional distance that pulled them apart. As memory and reality blur, they are forced to confront the weight of what was left unsaid.

WRITERS NOTES

While We Were Dreaming is an intimate exploration of memory, unresolved love and emotional hindsight. The story examines what happens when two people are finally able to communicate honestly only after distance, time and separation have already reshaped their relationship.

At its core, the film explores emotional paralysis and the lingering effect people leave on one another long after relationships end. Through shifting dreamlike spaces and fragmented recollections, the story reflects how memory can distort, preserve and emotionally trap us within the past.

Tonally, the film is reflective, melancholic and tender, using silence, atmosphere and recurring imagery to explore the fragile space between love and loss. While We Were Dreaming is less interested in reconciliation and more interested in emotional acceptance.
