Writers Notes
While Daisies presents itself as an intense, fast-paced drama, beneath the surface lies a tender story about childhood innocence, nostalgia and the longing for emotional escape. At its centre are characters attempting to hold onto a version of love rooted in memory, desperately chasing the simplicity and emotional safety they once felt as children.
The film explores how nostalgia can shape our decisions and distort our understanding of the future, blurring the line between genuine connection and the idealised memories we attach ourselves to. Through its shifting perspectives and quiet emotional moments, Daisies examines the tension between love, fear and the impossible desire to return to a simpler version of ourselves.
